While not a catchy name, EWC is a web alternative to Keynote. It performs much of what Keynote does, with one key exception of one exciting additional feature. Animated infographics. These are truly quite impressive. The other great thing about this tool is that you can do more than just create slideshow style presentations. You can also create Banners, Infographics (poster style), or something else completely custom.
Positives: 1) Slides that include animated infographics; 2) much easier to animate objects on an individual slide than Keynote. 2) Easy to embed and share presentation, to a variety of destinations. 3) Outstanding presentation quality (equal) on variety of devices. Negatives: 1) Difficult to edit objects. For example, changing colours does not always seem to do anything, and resizing images often results in instant disproportionate stretching (hint: switch to another slide then back again and try again...it tends to correct it). 2) Interface not intuitive to begin with. Need time with this tool to get used to the workflows. 3) Inserting audio seems about impossible (need a URL..?); 4) no Narration option; 5) Make a mistake, and often it means bailing on the presentation completely, requiring a multiple screen loading process to return to editing. Interesting: This is an advanced HTML5 tool and a portent of things to come.
